CNA Program

A CNA training program is a state-approved educational course that prepares students to become Certified Nursing Assistants. Programs typically include classroom instruction and hands-on clinical experience, covering topics like patient care, medical terminology, vital signs, and infection control.

The duration of CNA programs differs by state but typically lasts from 4 to 12 weeks. Training hours may vary from 75 to 180 hours. In many cases, a standard 120-hour CNA course might comprise four weeks of classroom instruction and two weeks of hands-on clinical training.

CNA training costs vary by location and institution, typically ranging from $400 to $3,000. Many programs offer financial aid, payment plans, or employer sponsorship options. Some healthcare facilities even offer free training in exchange for a work commitment.

Most states require CNA candidates to be at least 16-18 years old. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, although some institutions accept an 8th-grade transcript. Programs may also require a background check and health screening.

While some theoretical portions of CNA training can be completed online, hands-on clinical training must be done in person at an approved healthcare facility. Many programs now offer hybrid formats combining online classroom instruction with in-person clinical practice.
